Alejandro Mendoza is a seasoned media professional with 17 years of experience in TV-journalism.

He joined the KMEX news team in 2012 from KDTV Univision San Francisco where he was the main news anchor from 2008 to 2012.  Prior to that, he spent six years from 2002 to 2008 working as the bureau correspondent for Univision Network in Mexico City for both Primer Impacto and Noticiero Univision.  

Alejandro, who grew up in Monterrey, México, began his professional career as a journalist first in print and then in radio.  He subsequently moved into television to work for TV Azteca Noreste.  He later joined Televisa Monterrey as a fill-in anchor and reporter until he moved to México City to join Univision.   

Alejandro has covered a variety of stories, from Elections in Mexico to hurricanes, earthquakes and the World Cup in Germany.  His journalistic work has been recognized with prestigious awards including an RTNDA (Radio-Television News Directors Association) Edward R. Murrow Award in 2004, four Emmy’s, two GLAAD Awards and a Telly Award.  

Alejandro Mendoza received his B.A. in Communications and Journalism from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León in Mexico.
